You're in Good Hands

When it comes to body piercing, safety should always be a top priority. Whether you're considering getting a new piercing or already have one, it's important to ensure that proper safety measures are followed to minimize the risk of infection or complications.

At Tiger & Rose Tattoo, we offer all piercings in the privacy of a separate room to the main studio. All piercings are done with a single- use needle and all of our equipment is disposable use to ensure the highest standard of hygiene and safety.

Piercing FAQs

How old do you have to be to get a piercing?

The minimum age to get pierced is 16 years old for most piercings. Make sure you bring your ID. No ID means no piercing. If you're younger than 16, you must bring a parent with you but give us a call before just to make sure we can accommodate you.

Do you pierce with a gun or needle?

We believe in using needles rather than guns for body piercing. Needles provide a safer and more precise method for piercing, ensuring minimal damage to the skin and a quicker healing process. Unlike guns, needles create a clean puncture, reducing the risk of infection and complications. Our experienced piercers are trained to use needles, prioritizing your safety and satisfaction. Trust us for a professional and comfortable body piercing experience with the utmost attention to hygiene and quality.

Why do you offer titanium jewellery?

Titanium jewellery is considered safer than surgical steel when it comes to body piercing for several reasons. Firstly, titanium is a hypoallergenic metal, meaning it is unlikely to cause any allergic reactions or skin irritations. This is especially important for individuals with sensitive skin or known allergies to certain metals. Surgical steel, on the other hand, may contain trace amounts of nickel, which is a common allergen and can cause discomfort or even infections.

Secondly, titanium is a lightweight material, making it more comfortable to wear in piercings compared to heavier metals like surgical steel. This is particularly beneficial during the healing process, as it minimizes the strain on the piercing site and reduces the risk of complications or prolonged healing time.

Furthermore, titanium has a higher resistance to corrosion and tarnish compared to surgical steel. This means that titanium jewellery is less likely to react with bodily fluids or cleaning solutions, reducing the chances of infection or irritation. Surgical steel, on the other hand, may corrode or tarnish over time, potentially exposing the piercing to harmful substances.

Lastly, titanium jewellery is often used in medical implants due to its biocompatibility. This means that it is well-tolerated by the body and less likely to cause rejection or adverse reactions. In the context of body piercing, this makes titanium a reliable and safer choice for long-term wear.

Can I walk in or do I have to book an appointment for a piercing?

Tiger & Rose is an appointment only studio. This allows us to give our clients our full attention whilst being there. If you'd like to try to make an appointment for the same day, give us a call and we can let you know if you have any availability that day. Otherwise, use the Book Online tool and choose any date/ time that is available.

Can I get a few piercings at the same time?

Sure! We recommend not doing anymore than 3 at a time though. The more you get, the slower the healing time may be.
